Chocolate Cupcakes with Dulce de Leche Icing Recipe

- Dulce de Leche is caramelized sweetened condensed milk. It makes these cupcakes unforgettable!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 cup cake flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
Frosting
- 1/3 cup dulce de leche
- 2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 to 2 tbsp milk
- 1 dash Ground Cinnamon
- 2 tsp hot water
- 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
Directions
- Cream butter and sugar with electric mixer until light and creamy colored, about 5 minutes. Add eggs, beating well after each.
- Mix flour, cocoa, salt and cinnamon together in a medium bowl. Gradually add flour mixture and water to batter, alternating. Beat in vanilla extract. Combine soda and hot water in a small bowl; fold into batter. Portion into cupcake pans lined with liners.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 350º F. Cool at least 30 minutes
- Beat all frosting ingredients together in a large bowl until creamy. Ice each cupcake.
