Chive Drop Biscuits Recipe

Tender, hot from the oven, biscuits with the delicate onion-like flavor of chives. Serve with your next soup supper.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Chopped Chives
- 1/3 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
Directions
- Preheat oven to 450°F.
- Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add chives and stir. Add buttermilk; stir until just moist.
- Drop batter by heaping tablespoonfuls onto a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
